Hi Nerd! Today is the third Friday the 13th since March 13, 2020, the first day the Nerdette team started working from home — but who’s counting?! ANYWAY, here are some bright spots from my week that you might like too:

This chile-cucumber agua fresca is truly lovely.
Chris Bojalian’s new novel The Lioness might just be the perfect summer read — the setting will transport you, it’s full of memorable characters, and the plot is exquisitely unhinged.
I’m late to this party, but the Apple TV+ space drama For All Mankind is very very good! And Season 3 starts June 10, which means now is the perfect time to indulge.

In keeping with this week’s episode, I was THRILLED to find The One Recipe podcast. Each episode, a chef shares the one recipe that they make over and over again.
I have been listening to Ibeyi’s new album Spell 31 on repeat. My favorite track is “Sister 2 Sister.”
Every year, I am delighted to hear the work that comes out of NPR’s student podcast challenge. They’re so talented!
