Watch: Water Shoots Out of Chicago Streets Amid Heavy Flooding

Widespread, all-day rain Sunday in Chicago led to heavy and dangerous flooding across the city. And as standing water pooled in areas like under viaducts and even in basements, some streets saw water shooting up from the ground.

One social media video from Sunday shows water shooting up near the Diversey River Bowl, and another shows cars driving by what appears to be a geyser from a broken pipe on a residential street.

According to NBC 5 Storm Team, the north side of Chicago and the near north suburbs on Sunday received between three and four inches of rain. Lake County saw a bit more, at between four and five inches.

Who is Eligible for 2022 Illinois Tax Rebates? What to Know as Checks Begin

Many Illinois residents could soon see checks in the mail or money in their bank accounts thanks to new income and property tax rebates, but not everyone will be eligible.

Under Gov. J.B. Pritzker's Illinois Family Relief Plan, which was approved in April, one-time individual income tax and property tax rebates will be issued to those who meet certain criteria, with payments beginning in less than one week.

Payment distribution is expected to begin Sept. 12, but not everyone will receive their checks right away. Distribution will take roughly eight weeks, according to a news release from Illinois Comptroller Susanna Mendoza, whose office is managing the process.

Less Than 2 Weeks Left to File Claim in Illinois' Google Class-Action Lawsuit Settlement

Eligible Illinois residents have less than two weeks left to submit their claims as part of a multi-million dollar settlement in a class-action lawsuit involving Google.

The lawsuit, which mirrors one recently settled with Facebook that resulted in many residents receiving checks worth nearly $400 this year, claimed the company violated the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act by "collecting and storing biometric data of individuals who, while residing in Illinois, appeared in a photograph in the photograph sharing and storage service known as Google Photos, without proper notice and consent."

A settlement agreement was reached in the case earlier this year and now, eligible residents can file their claims. Google did not immediately respond to NBC 5's request for comment, but did not admit any wrongdoing as part of the settlement agreement and denied all claims made in the lawsuit.

After Record-Breaking Rainfall, Another Soggy Day in Store For Chicago Area

A day after Chicago saw some of its most 'significant' flooding in two years, another soggy day is in store for Monday. The good news is, it won't be as wet and widespread as Sunday.

According to NBC 5 Storm Team, the north side of Chicago and the near north suburbs on Sunday received between three and four inches of rain. Lake County saw a bit more, at between four and five inches.

In Rockford, Sunday's rainfall total broke the city's previous record, the National Weather Service says. At 4.34 inches, Sunday ranked as the third heaviest September rainfall on record, and Rockford's 12th heaviest rainfall of all time.
