Experience the diverse and vibrant cultures of Latin America at Celebración de los Árboles this Saturday, September 24. Bring your family and friends to this new cultural event to hear storytelling by Chris Fascione, dance along to the festive music of the Mariachi Sirenas, and take in a traditional performance by the Teotlecuilli Aztec Dance Group. Food trucks will be serving signature dishes, including empanadas and churros, and a variety of bilingual programming will take place in the Children's Garden throughout the day. Celebración de los Árboles is included with timed-entry admission to the Arboretum.
 

The Gerard T. Donnelly Grand Garden Is Now Open!
The new garden, the Arboretum's newest attraction, is now open for guests to enjoy all year round. Watch this video to take a sneak peek of this beautiful space. This new garden honors the past view and layout of the historic Hedge Garden and pays tribute to the Arboretum's centennial milestone. Showcasing the beauty and diversity of plants throughout the seasons, this new space includes soothing water features, pergolas for shade and relaxation, as well as three main spaces for celebration and joy for years to come.

Illumination tickets on sale soon! 
Celebrate the tenth annual Illumination: Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum. Explore 50 acres of the Arboretum's majestic trees during this one-of-a-kind spectacle of light, color, and sound. This year's event will feature returning favorites, six dazzling new displays, and the first-ever Illumination display in the new garden, leading to a spectacular laser-light finale. Tickets go on sale to members and the public on Saturday, October 1

Attend the Fall Color Festival

Enjoy all of the upcoming events at the Fall Color Festival. Take on a scenic, rolling course at the Fall Color 5K Run and Walk on Saturday, October 1. Sample local wines at the Fall Color Wine Tasting on Thursday, October 6. Enjoy one-of-a-kind handblown glass art creations at the Glass Pumpkin Patch starting on Wednesday, October 12. Savor ciders and seasonal beers at the Cider and Ale Festival on Saturday, October 22. See the friendly faces of the Scarecrow Trail around the Meadow Lake path throughout the month of October.

Adult Education

Get to know the trees in your neighborhood in a new way by participating in Be a Community Scientist: Observe Nearby Trees with the Canopy Counts Program (online) on Wednesday, September 21. Take a photographic journey through the Arboretum across decades and seasons in Light Through the Trees: Twenty Years of The Morton Arboretum in Photographs (in person) on Wednesday, September 28. Discover the many trees, evergreens, shrubs, and vines that are home to a wide array of insects in Woody Plants for Butterflies and Moths (in person) on Saturday, October 8.

Upcoming Events

Shop The Arboretum Store's Annual Bulb Sale for a selection of individual and premixed bulb sets to create a beautiful spring display in your garden. The sale starts on Friday, September 23. Attend Walking Plays, starting on Saturday, October 1, to walk along with Winnie the Pooh in a classic adaptation of the beloved children's tale performed amid beautiful fall landscapes. Enjoy intimate classical music during Chamber Concerts, on select Sundays starting November 6.
