Husband Posts Hilarious Wanted Ad 'Looking for Gay Man' to Party With Wife

One New York man on Craigslist tried to find a crafty solution to ensure his wife could go to weekend events safely without him in attendance.

In a Craigslist ad, shared by popular nightlife producer Terence Edgerson on Instagram, a husband was seeking someone to chaperone his wife on weekend excursions so he would be able to "get some rest." Edgerson — known as NY Social Bee online — shared a screenshot of the listing titled "Looking for Gay man to take wife out to party (Chelsea)," which appears to have since been removed from the website.

Queen's 8 Grandchildren Hold Silent Vigil Beside Her Coffin

All eight of Queen Elizabeth II's grandchildren stood in silent vigil beside her coffin Saturday, capping another huge day in which thousands came to pay their respects. Mourners huddled in a line that snaked across London, enduring the city's coldest night in months and waits that stretched up to 16 hours.

Authorities warned that more chilly weather was expected Saturday night. "Tonight's forecast is cold. Warm clothing is recommended," the ministry in charge of the line tweeted.

As U.S. President Joe Biden and other world leaders and dignitaries flew into London ahead of the queen's state funeral on Monday, a tide of people wanting to say goodbye streamed into Parliament's Westminster Hall for another day Saturday. That's where the queen's coffin is lying in state, draped in her Royal Standard and capped with a diamond-studded crown.

Royal Fans Give London Tourism a Bump Amid UK Economic Woes

Royal fans have poured into the heart of London to experience the flag-lined roads, pomp-filled processions and, above all, brave a mileslong line for the once-in-a-lifetime chance to bid adieu to Queen Elizabeth II, who died after an unprecedented seven decades on the throne. And while they're here, they're packing hotels, restaurants and shops.

Visitors crowding into central London from as far away as the U.S. and India for the historic moment are giving a boost to businesses at a time when the British economy is facing a cost-of-living crisis fueled by the highest inflation in four decades and predictions of a looming recession.

"This is the history, you know, this happens once in the lifetime," said Kanakkantt Benedict, who was visiting from India with his wife and filed past the queen's flag-draped coffin this week. "So we became a part of it."
