With the digitization of education becoming more prominent than ever, it is imperative that higher education institutions prioritize information security. Greg Flanik, Chief Information Officer at Baldwin Wallace University shared his expertise of more than 21 years of experience in information technology (IT) and business alignment at Fierce Education’s recent Connected Campus virtual event, urging higher education institutions to take action to ensure cyber safety. The postsecondary education and research industry is seen as the prime target in cyberspace making up nearly 75% of all cyber-attacks, he said.

In June, Rider University in Lawrenceville announced deep program cuts and layoffs to address a $20 million deficit after an earlier plan to sell its venerable Westminster Choir College fell apart.
