Taking place at the historic Subterranean, the evening will feature live performances from four of our favorite hip-hop and R&B artists from across Chicago. Featured artists include: Ausar, Brittney Carter, WemmyMo, and Oliv Blu. Hosted by Vocalo’s own Stephen Bekoe, the night will also serve as a welcoming party for Vocalo’s newest radio personality, Nudia Hernandez, who will be making her SubT debut on the ones and twos. REGISTER TODAY The Chi Sounds Like Showcase celebrates Chicago’s music scene by connecting you to fresh artists that are moving the culture forward. This is a chance to hit the reset button on your week and chill to some good music. Ausar: Ausar is a singer and Hip-Hop artist from Chicago’s South Side and South Suburbs. He fell in love with music at a young age, initially gaining inspiration from gospel. Having built an appreciation for artists like Common and Kanye West, he’s also influenced by the sounds of R&B and soul. Brittney Carter: As one of Chicago’s best kept secrets, Brittney Carter’s rapping is bold and unafraid to take risks. Coupled with her intelligent and poetic lyricism, Carter continues to raise the bar for rappers in Chicago and beyond. WemmyMo: Coming from a Nigerian background, WemmyMo encompasses everything we love in Chicago music: old-school samples mixed with eloquent lyricism and an impeccable flow over hard-hitting sub-bass instrumentals to blow out your speakers. Oliv Blu: With otherworldly harmonies and the pure star power to match, Oliv Blu brings a special brand of neo-soul to the music community. A singer-songwriter from the south suburbs of Chicago, Oliv looks to connect with her audience with a blend of Soul, R&B, and Jazz. This event is 17 and over. Entry for this event requires proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within three days of the event.
